The Corrections Division is the largest unit in the Sheriffs Office. |

The staff of 97 full and part-time employees is responsible for operating the Wayne County Correctional Facility, maintaining the safety and security of the inmates, providing food, clothing, and medical and mental health care. |

Educational services and treatment programs encourage prisoners to change their behavior and attitudes to a more productive, meaningful lifestyle. |
Group Sessions make up part of the inmates life while in the facility. |
|
|
|
||
|
Inmates of school age are required to participate in GED classes and are encouraged to complete their high school education. |
||
|
|
||
|
The Wayne County Correctional Facility has a modern treatment center for sick or injured inmates. Under supervision of the jail physicians, the Nurse Practitioner supervises three registered nurses. |
||
|
Correctional Officers are also responsible for transporting prisoners to and from court, doctors appointments and other places. |
||
|

Incoming mail from attorneys, legal assistance agencies, courts, correctional officials or any other local, state or federal official shall be considered privileged correspondence, all other incoming mail will be opened and inspected for contraband. An individual inmate money account is established upon admittance to the facility. Money in your possession at the time of admittance iscredited to the account. Funds may be added to these accounts as follows:
It is strongly recommended by this facility that your family and friends do not send cash thru the mail. If they do, WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE. Personal checks will not be accepted. If sent they will be returned to the sender. |

EDUCATION/GED (HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATE) CONTACT - GED INSTRUCTOR THRU FINGER LAKES BOCES All 16, 17 and 18 year old inmates attend the GED Program. THIS FACILITY EXTENDS THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE WHO HAS NOT RECEIVED A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, NO MATTER WHAT HIS OR HER AGE.
NEW DIRECTIONS Career planning, skill assessment, assistance with resume writing and job search. Available in GED classes and on an individual basis.
LIAISON FOR FORENSIC OUTREACH SERVICES (LFOS) - PROVIDED BY COMMUNITY COUNSELING CENTER OF WAYNE COUNTY (C.C.C.W.C) Information and referral services as well as general supportive counseling available Monday through Friday. Notary Public services are also available Monday through Friday.

FLACRA - Individual and group counseling sessions.
WAYNE COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE Individual counseling sessions available.
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (AA) weekly meetings for both males and females.
NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS (NA) weekly meeting.
ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE Individual counseling sessions and group sessions.

IF BAIL IS SENT VIA ELECTRONIC WIRE, IT MUST BE MADE OUT TO WAYNE COUNTY OFFICE OF SHERIFF. The Village of Newark, NY has the closest Western Union. Please inform your sender of this to save time. Please have whom ever is sending you the bail money from Western Union, get a confirmation number and have them contact the Booking Room Officer, giving the confirmation number. When Western Union in Newark advises receiving a bail check, WE WILL THEN HAVE AN OFFICER PICK IT UP. |
